Nourish Your Skin with Body Butters

Sun exposure during the summer is inevitable – you’re balancing beach days with seasonal sports, long walks, and picnics. And you should live it up! Your adventures will show on your skin, though – dry patches, sunburns that turn into flaking, breakouts, and dullness. Help your skin bounce back with body butters – not only are they a little nostalgic but they are oh so effective at hydrating and soothing dry skin. Life-flo’s body butters are (unlike the ones from the ‘90s) organic, fragrance free, and long-lasting.

Here are our favorite body butters we plan to stock up on this summer.

SHEA BUTTER

Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. While often edible, it is commonly used in skincare products because of its decadent moisturizing properties. Our Pure Shea Butter is unrefined, certified organic, and loaded with fatty acids and antioxidants – these emollient properties make it a must if you’re looking to smooth and soften dry skin. While other butters may be too rich for your face, shea is light enough to use as a night cream – it’s absorbed easily and will deliver that hydrated morning glow.

Feel like slathering it all over? You actually can – use shea as a sub for conditioner to replenish dry and brittle hair from chlorine or the sun, or use it as a leave-in conditioner throughout the day to reduce frizz and boost shine.

COCOA BUTTER

Cocoa butter, also known as theobroma oil, is a fat extracted from the cocoa bean. It’s used to make chocolate, but is also extremely moisturizing when applied to skin. Not only does this pure organic cocoa butter have a lovely light chocolate scent, it melts into skin like an absolute dream.

Packed with fatty acids, this lush cream helps improve the texture and plump appearance of the skin. Help replenish and maintain your skin’s moisture barrier while the antioxidant Vitamin E helps protect your skin from damaging free radicals – the perfect after-sun accessory. Apply it to your heels, knees, elbows, and other areas that tend to get dry for a boost of hydration.

MANGO BUTTER

Mangos are a fave snack for sure, but did you know their seeds could improve your skin? Mango seeds, similar to shea butter, are high in antioxidants and essential fatty acids – making it basically the perfect body cream for hydration and nourishment. Our Pure Mango Butter replenishes the skin’s moisture content and adds softness and elasticity while minimizing the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

While you can (and should) massage it into dry areas like knees, heels, and elbows, our secret hack we love is to use it as a lip and cuticle balm!
